Astos

Astos ("Astos? MO' LIKE YO' ASS IS TOAST!") is the king of the dark elves. Unlike his original counterpart, who was rather difficult due to being the first enemy in the game to use the instant KO spell Death, this Astos is easily defeated by Black Mage's own horrendous attempt at making a joke out of his name.

Astos, also known as Chancellor Usurper at that time, was taking the role of king while the king was ill and The Prince was away. However, the elven rules stated that, if there wasn't any king or succesor in 101 days, the Chancellor Would take the position; so, Astos payed Doctor Malapractice for making the king unable to rule. His plan was working very well, until the Light Warriors arrived. They discovered Doctor Malapractice's plan, and when he ran away, Thief, along with the Light Warriors, went to the Marsh Cave to find the Royal Crown, however, as they were returning, the Light Warriors overheard Astos thinking out loud his evil schemes. Astos then tried to kill the warriors in their sleep, but Thief and Black Mage outsmarted him and went to find some (Alive) human decoys, which coincidentally, were the Rex Crockett's parents. Astos, believing they were dead, tried to take over Elfland, but Thief confronted him. At that moment, the Chancellor revealed he was in fact Astos, and his plan was to Plunge Elfland into a modern dark age and make a civil war to see everyone slit their throats in the process. In the procces, he revealed Drizz'l was his son. However, Red Mage Statscowski and Black Mage started making fun of his name. Black mage then made an horrendous joke about his name, and Astos died in the act.
